The Fake News Media is the enemy of the people

A small child dresses up for his favorite football team and has his face painted in the team's colors. He attends the team's game to root for them. How sweet, right? Well, it could be. Unfortunately, the Fake News Media decided they needed to
smear and defame an innocent child for the "crime" of enthusiasm for his favorite NFL team. In a just world, Carron J. Phillips would be fired from Deadspin and permanently blackballed from the profession of journalism. Any news outlet that employs him from this point forward has willingly sacrificed its own credibility.
I sent this email to Deadspin:

I was shocked, horrified and angered to read the hysterical screed by Carron J. Phillips, fraudulently accusing a small child of wearing blackface at a Kansas City Chiefs game:
The image of a Chiefs fan in Black face wearing a Native headdress during a road game leads to so many unanswered questions.
This, obviously, is a damnable lie. Phillips decided to
stir up hate and anger against a child for clicks and clout. Deadspin then promoted this smear on its social media account, and Phillips went so far as to double down on his fabricated story.
Lies have consequences. Your publication has potentially exposed a child and his family to a torrent of hate and death threats from people who saw your story and were gullible enough to believe it. This is why Donald Trump has repeatedly (and correctly) referred to the Fake News Media as "the enemy of the people." You have proven Trump right by defaming a small child. You have also made an enormous in-kind contribution to the Trump 2024 campaign, which draws support from disdain for the establishment liberal media.
Phillips screeched that this story raises questions. He is right, but the questions are not the ones he "asked." First and most obviously: How stupid do you think your readers are? Did you think you were actually going to get away with this smear, especially in an age where people can get other photographic evidence within minutes and expose your story as a complete and total fabrication? Why did you feel it was necessary to smear and defame a small child? Did you run out of other new stories to write about? Or are you just filled with hate?
A full apology, with no qualifications, is necessary. However, that is not enough. Obviously, Phillips' employment should be immediately terminated. He has permanently destroyed his credibility, and nothing he writes can ever be trusted again. You should totally repudiate everything he has written and put an apology on every article on your website that he authored. Targeting a small child for destruction is an act of pure sadism.
You should be ashamed of yourselves!
