About the Author

I am happily married with two sons, born in 2012 and 2014. We are members of Trinity Reformed Church of Bloomington. I graduated from Grace Baptist Academy in Angola, Indiana in 1992, survived cancer in 1997, graduated from Indiana University in 1998 and got married in 2001.

I have been active in local politics for some time going back to my college days. I have volunteered for a number of organizations, including serving on the board of Christian Citizens For Life.

Politically, I am a philosophical libertarian who identifies with the Republican Party. I believe the government that governs least governs best, that taxes are too high, and unless someone's actions cause harm to someone else, government should generally allow people to live as they please. More specifically:

I am a Christian. I believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the Word of God and is literally true. I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He was born of a virgin, died on the cross, rose the third day, sits at the right hand of God and will return. Only through the substitutionary atonement of Christ's blood can we be saved; there is no other way to heaven. Salvation is by grace through faith, not of works. However, works are a sign of true faith.
