Hookup culture and false rape allegations

By Scott Tibbs, April 28, 2023

When the Duke University false-accusation scandal broke in 2006, Ann Coulter offered this advice: "You can severely reduce your chances of having a false accusation of rape leveled against you if you don’t hire strange women to come to your house and take their clothes off for money." That was the first thing that came to my mind when Matt Walsh did a segment about a rape accusation against a man who had a one night stand in college.

Hookup culture is one part of the cancerous Sexual Revolution kicked off by a man who got his so-called "data" from a sexual predator. When I was in my teens (which was only 35 years ago) "hookups" were commonly called "one night stands." ONS was tossed aside for a much more vague term to reduce the shame of something that we should see as shameful - especially for a man.

How about this as an alternative? Act like a man, not an animal. Commit to a woman and marry her before having sex with her. Stop acting like a dog that is only interested in finding another female.

Hookup culture is the product of selfish men exploiting women. It is not surprising that women who "hook up" report significantly less sexual satisfaction than married women. "Hookup culture" has destroyed souls for generations, and consent is the only value we uphold. What "hookup culture" should have taught us over the last few decades is that while consent necessary, consent is not enough, and does not prevent women from being sexually exploited by weak "men."

I have written a great deal about due process for men accused of sexual assault, a constitutional right that has been trampled by both state-funded universities and Presidents Obama and Biden. We must continue to fight the attacks on due process. But this reality remains: Men can protect themselves from false allegations of rape by not having one night stands with women they barely know.
