The Left's vindictiveness and Limbaugh's sin

Rush Limbaugh said on his radio program that he will be changing his travel plans for the next few years after an incident where Viagra was found in his briefcase. The drug was prescribed in his doctor's name for privacy reasons, a practice that is legal under Florida law.

This case paints a very disturbing picture of the Left in this country. Many Leftists are, to a greater and greater extent, motivated not by a desire to see their principles enacted in government, but to personally destroy their opposition. This is happening not only at the national level, but the state and local level as well. The level of hate, vindictiveness, and desire to personally destroy political rivals is developing a demonic edge to it.

One question that virtually no one is asking in this debacle, though, is why Limbaugh needs Viagra in the first place, since he is not married. Have we forgotten 1 Corinthians 6:18?

No one has denied that the brazenly political witch-hunt targeting Limbaugh is despicable. However, our first duty is not to the Republican Party or our conservative principles. our first duty is to the One who died to save us of our sins and who redeemed us.

I see a lot of excuse making for Limbaugh on this. Legally, he did nothing wrong. I see no legal or moral problem with drugs being prescribed in someone else's name for privacy reasons, especially given the bulls-eye on Limbaugh's back. But morally and Biblically, sex outside of marriage is sin. The Bible is very clear on this.

Limbaugh is a hero of mine. I credit him for helping mold my political philosophy and helping be articulate that philosophy. That does not mean he has a license to break God's commandments and it does not mean Limbaugh's brothers and sisters in Christ must be silent about his sin.
